Step-by-Step Pathway
Step 1: Eligibility & Job Offer
- Confirm eligibility via recognised qualifications
- Secure a job offer with an approved medical practice
Step 2: Verification & AMC Requirements
- Verify medical credentials via MyIntealth
- Create an AMC (Australian Medical Council) portfolio
- Meet English language requirements
Step 3: Registration (AHPRA)
- Apply for Specialist or Provisional Registration through the Medical Board of Australia
Step 4: Visa
- Apply for an appropriate work visa for Australia
Step 5: Medicare Provider Number
- Apply for Medicare Provider & Prescriber Numbers to start billing
Who Is Eligible

• Completion of GPEP
Where Can You Work?
Work Location Guidelines
• Must work in a Distribution Priority Area (DPA)
• Eligible locations range across MM1–MM7 (metro to rural) if classified as DPA
