INFORMATION FOR DOCTORS

VR GPS

We are primarily looking for doctors who are trained and worked in Australia, New Zealand, the UK, Ireland, Canada or Singapore. You will need to have specialist qualifications from one of these countries and also membership of the appropriate Royal College, so that you work as VR GPs to attract higher medicare rates. All IMGs must work in DWS/DPA area for at least 10 years.

From 1 July 2019, a new health workforce Distribution Priority Area (DPA) classification system will replace the Districts of Workforce Shortage (DWS)

The DPA also applies a number of blanket rules:
o Inner metropolitan areas are automatically deemed non-DPA;
o MM 5 – 7 are automatically deemed DPA;
o Northern Territory is automatically deemed DPA;
